Welcome to the Lewisham Talking Newspaper. We provide a free service to blind or partially sighted people who live, or used to live, within the London Borough of Lewisham, South East London.
You do not have to be registered as visually impaired with Social Services to use our service, just unable to read print the size of N12 (large newspaper size). The service consists of a weekly 90-minute audiotape containing local news on side one, and articles, recipes, gardening hints and an entertainment guide on side two. Periodically there is an additional colour supplement and/or magazine tape. For a brief history click here How We Started.
Sounds good? Would you like to subscribe to this free service, or do you know someone who would? Simply provide details, name, address and telephone number via our email address: ltnenqs@hotmail.com or telephone our studio on 020 8699 9399.
LTN is a registered charity Number 276389 staffed entirely by volunteers and has been in continuous operation since the first edition went out in 1979.
In 2001 the service was expanded and a new monthly tape called Today's World was introduced. This is a magazine tape that keeps listeners abreast of, and prepared for the challenges of the changing world around us.
