The Week Ahead with Taylor Swift, The Smashing Pumpkins, Blondie, James Arthur

Posted: 3 months ago

Swifties rejoice! Taylor Swift, last week declared by the New York Times as "Bigger than the Beatles" (not heard that one before, have we?), she will be touring the UK with her "Eras" tour, with Paramore in tow.

Billy Corgan's Smashing Pumpkins will kick-off their UK and Ireland tour with Weezer on Friday, 7th June in Birmingham, stopping-off in London, Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester, and Cardiff.

Blondie play just two solitary gigs in the UK this summer, with Halifax's Piece Hall the chosen venue, ahead of their Plymouth Summer Sessions slot with Sting, and the Belsonic headline slot in Belfast.

James Arthur will headline a massive hometown gig at Middlesbrough's Riverside Stadium on Saturday, 8th June, with McFly, Lauran Hibberd and local supports. He then has a busy summer schedule, playing Bristol Sounds, Live in the Wyldes in Cornwall, Sounds of the City in Leeds, and other gigs besides.

Some big names playing festivals this week, with the likes of Doja Cat, Underworld, Chaka Khan, Jessie Ware, The Human League and more. Read on!

This week's #VenueOfTheWeek is Rough Trade Bristol, with Seasick Steve, Earl Slick, Swim Deep, Alfie Templeman, Liz Lawrence, Masca, Mallavora, and King Hannah at the Bristol venue from 3rd June.
