Straight outta Compton - the forefathers of gansta rap formed in 1986, featuring Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Arabian Prince, DJ Yella, MC Ren and the late Eazy-E.
With the release of their 1988 debut "Straight Outta Compton", the band helped popularise a new genre of music: Gangsta Rap. They followed that up with the album "Niggaz4Life" (released as "Efil4Zaggin" in the UK, and becoming the subject of a lawsuit).
