Whitney Houston

[1963 - 2012] Whitney Houston was a multi award-winning American singer and actress - daughter of soul singer Cissy Houston.

Whitney's debut eponymous album, released in 1985, went multi-platinum, received four Grammy nominations - winning in the "Best Pop Vocal Performance" category and spawning the massive hits 'Saving All My Love for You' and 'The Greatest Love of all' - originally a hit for George Benson in 1977.

The follow-up album 'Whitney' also went multi-platinum, spawning the worldwide hit 'I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)' and 'So Emotional'.

Whitney's biggest single hit came with the release of the movie 'The Bodyguard', in which she starred alongside Kevin Costner, the soundtrack for which included her cover of Dolly Parton's 'I Will Always Love You', which topped the charts (alomst unanimously) across the world.
