Angelique Kidjo

Grammy-award winning afric-pop/soul singer-songwriter from Benin.

She signed to Island Records in 1991 who released her debut album "Logozo" (it featured an impressive cast-list including Manu DiBango and Branford Marsalis).

She has appeared at several world music festivals as well as helping African music cross-over to a wider audience. Her 2007 album "Djin Dijn" featured collaborations with contemporary artists including Peter Gabriel, with the 2015 album, "Sings" winning a Grammy for "Best World Music Album".

She released her debut album, "Pretty" in 1981, followed by: "Ewa Ka Djo (Let's Dance)" (1985), "Parakou" (1990), "Logozo" (1991), "Ayé" (1994), "Fifa" (1996), "Oremi" (1998), "Keep On Moving: The Best of Angelique Kidjo" (2001), "Black Ivory Soul" (2002), "Oyaya!" (2004), "Djin Djin" (2007), "Õÿö" (2010), "Spirit Rising" (2012), "Eve" (2014), "Sings with the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg" (2015), plus 2018's: "Remain in Light".

She is a LiveEarth ambassador and has often donated her songs to global causes.
