Charismatic and physical singer-songwriter and broadcaster who initially fronted garage-punk band The Stooges, worked with David Bowie on the classic "The Idiot" and "Lust For Life" albums in 1977, scored a hit with "Real Wild Child" in the 80s and experienced a resurgence in the mid-90s after "Lust For Life" was used in the film "Trainspotting".

Other key solo songs include "The Passenger", "Nightclubbing" (also in "Trainspotting"), "China Girl", Chairman of the Bored" and "Fall In Love With Me".
