[1951 - 2005] Luther Vandross was an American soul superstar who started out as a backing singer for Chaka Khan, Bette Midler, Diana Ross, Barbra Streisand, and Donna Summer, later fronting the band Change.
As a solo singer and songwriter, Luther received numerous awards, releasing multi-platinum album-after-album, from 1981's "Never Too Much" up until his final album - 2003's "Dance with my Father".
