The Orb

British electronic/ambient outfit originally formed in 1988 by Alex Paterson and ex-KLF member Jimmy Cauty, later featuring Kris Weston before German electronic musician Thomas Fehlmann (Sun Electric) replaced Weston in the mid-'90s. Fehlmann was replaced by Michael Rendall in 2019.

Their key releases include the albums "The Orb's Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld", "U.F.Orb", "Pomme Fritz", "The Orbserver in the Star House", "Moonbuilding 2703 AD" (2015), "COW / Chill Out, World!" (2016), "No Sounds Are Out of Bounds" (2018), plus 2020's: "Abolition of the Royal Familia", plus singles "A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules from the Centre of the Ultraworld", "Little Fluffy Clouds", "Toxygene" and the longest single to reach the Top 40, "Blue Room" (39 minutes and 58 seconds).
