Adele is an award-winning pop-soul singer/ songwriter originally from South London, who came to prominence as the BBC Sound Of 2008.
Her debut album, "19", appeared on the XL label in 2008, spawning the singles "Chasing Pavements" and "Make You Feel My Love".
She issued the follow-up "21" in 2011 - it remained at #1 for several weeks initially.
Her album '21' was nominated for the Barclaycard Mercury Music Prize in 2011, with numerous BRIT and Grammy nominations in 2012, including six Grammy wins. She won another Grammy in 2013 and a further five in 2017.
In 2013, her song 'Skyfall' (recorded for the James Bond film of the same name) was nominated for a Brit Award (British Single of the Year) and won a Golden Globe in the 'Best Original Song' and was nominated for an Oscar in the same category and scooped numerous other film awards. It also won a BRIT Award in 2013 for Best Single.
She released her third album, "25" in 2015, preceded by the number one single, "Hello". Fourth album, "30" was released in 2021, featuring the lead single: "Easy on Me".
