Experimental alt-folk project founded in London during the late 70s by key member Steven Stapleton (also of Current 93).
Their sound is a mixture of 'concrete', 'ambient', folk and 'industrial', borrowing heavily from the Krautrock scene of the 70s.
Never ones to shy away from outlandish song and album titles, their most prominent releases (from around 50) include: 'Chance Meeting On A Dissecting Table Of A Sewing Machine And An Umbrella', 'Brained By Falling Masonry', 'The Sylvie and Babs Hi-Fi Companion', 'Crumb Duck' (with Stereolab) and 'Disconnected' (with Faust).
