Esperanza Spalding

Esperanza Spalding is a bass-playing jazz-vocalist and bandleader from Oregon. Her rise to fame accelerated after being selected by President Obama to play at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremonies in 2009.

She released her debut album, "Junjo" in 2006, followed by: "Esperanza" (2008), "Chamber Music Society" (2010), "Radio Music Society" (2012), "Emily's D+Evolution" (2016), "Exposure" (2017), plus 2018's: "12 Little Spells".

Esperanza won the 2011 Grammy Award for Best New Artist.
