Meat Puppets

Meat Puppets are an American country, grunge and alt-rock band formed in 1980, split in 1996, reformed twice more in 1999 and once again in 2006.

Key members include Curt Kirkwood - guitar and vocals, Cris Kirkwood - bass and Shandon Sahm - drums (Derrick Bostrom was a co-founder on drums until 1996).

The band were one of SST's leading acts, spawning the classic albums "Up On The Sun", "Meat Puppets II", "Mirage" and "Huevos" - their sound veered from country-punk to out-and-out rock during this period. Other albums include: "Monsters" (1989), "Forbidden Places" (1991), "Too High to Die" (1994), "No Joke!" (1995), "Golden Lies" (2000), "Rise to Your Knees" (2007), "Sewn Together" (2009), "Lollipop" (2011), "Rat Farm" (2013), plus 2019's: "Dusty Notes".
