Martin Hannett

Renowned producer, engineer, musician and arranger from Manchester (1948-1991).

He is most commonly associated with being the in-house producer for Factory Records and produced the landmark releases, "Unknown Pleasures", "Closer", "Love Will Tear Us Apart" and "Transmission" for Joy Division, "Everything's Gone Green" and "Ceremony" for New Order, "Always Now" for Section 25, "Nightshift" and "Swimming" for The Names, "Return Of..." for Durutti Column, "To Each" and "Flight" for ACR and "Electricity" for OMD.

He also produced songs for U2, Psychedelic Furs, John Cooper Clarke, Magazine, Pauline Murray, Jilted John and Blue In Heaven, before returning to Factory to work with Happy Mondays on the album, "Bummed".
