Hardcore hip hop group from New York formed in 1988 and comprised of Sticky Fingaz, Fredro Starr and Sonsee. Once a four-piece, Onyx previously included the late Big DS, although he left after the group's 1993 debut album, "Bacdafucup". Other albums include: "All We Got Iz Us" (1995), "Shut 'Em Down" (1998), "Bacdafucup: Part II" (2002), "Triggernometry" (2003), "#WakeDaFucUp" (2014), "Black Rock" (2018), "SnowMads" (2019), "Onyx 4 Life" (2021), "World Take Over" (2022), "Onyx Versus Everybody" (2022), "1993" (2022), plus 2023's: "Blood on da X".
Onyx were signed to Def Jam and their breakthough came with huge radio and MTV play for the single 'Slam' in 1993. Other notable US hits include "Throw Ya Gunz" and "Shiftee".
