[1943 - 2022] Vangelis was a Greek musician and composer of electronic, pop-rock and orchestral music, real name Evangelos Papathanassiou.
He was best known for his Oscar-winning score for the film Chariots of Fire and his musical partnership with Jon Anderson of Yes. With Anderson, Vangelis scored a No 6 hit with the 1981 single, "I'll Find My Way Home", among other successes.
He released his debut album, "Fais Que Ton Rêve Soit Plus Long Que la Nuit" in 1972, followed by: "Earth" (1973), "Heaven and Hell" (1975), "Albedo 0.39" (1976), "Spiral" (1977), "The Dragon" (1978), "Hypothesis" (1978), "Beaubourg" (1978), "China" (1979), "See You Later" (1980), "Soil Festivities" (1984), "Invisible Connections" (1985), "Mask" (1985), "Direct" (1988), "The City" (1990), "Voices" (1995), "Foros Timis Ston Greco" (1995), "Oceanic" (1996), "El Greco" (1998), "Mythodea - Music for the NASA Mission: 2001 Mars Odyssey" (2001), "Rosetta" (2016), "Nocturne: The Piano Album" (2019), plus 2021's: "Juno To Jupiter".
