[1942 - 2021] Michael Nesmith was an American musician, songwriter and actor, best known as one of the members of The Monkees.
Nesmith found success after The Monkees as a songwriter (for singers including Linda Ronstadt), producer, novelist and film/video producer.
With The Monkees, he sold more than 65 million records, thanks to hits such as 'Last Train to Clarksville', 'I'm a Believer', 'Pleasant Valley Sunday' and 'Daydream Believer.
His solo work since 1963 included debut-single "Wanderin'" plus "Joanne" and "Rio" and the albums "Magnetic South" and "The Prison".
His mum invented 'liquid correction fluid' (Tipp-Ex to you and me).
