Orchestra based at York's Guildhall, originally founded in 1980 for a one-off performance.
More than 30 years later, the YGO is the Orchestra in Residence at the York Barbican and performs three concerts a year as part of the main concert season, with a handful of other engagements.
"The Orchestra's aim is to perform concerts of the highest possible standard with (where funds allow) soloists of national and international renown."
