Influential indie-rock band from Manchester, formed in 1983 and whose lineup originally featured: Ian Brown - vocals, John Squire - guitar, Gary "Mani" Mounfield - bass and Alan "Reni" Wren - drums.
The band's self-titled album appeared in 1989 after a series of collectable 12" singles (including "So Young", "Sally Cinnamon" and "Elephant Stone"). Other non-album singles include "Fool's Good" and "One Love".
The band initially split up after the "Second Coming" album before reforming in 2011.
