The Salts

"In November 1805 a naval messenger named Lt John Richards Lapenotiere docked in Falmouth, and raced across country to the Admiralty in London, to deliver dispatches from The Battle of Trafalgar-including the report of Lord Nelson's death.

In autumn 2023 sea shanty folk group The Salts will follow Lieutenant Lapenotiere's route, "The Trafalgar Way" stopping at the plaques that mark his 271 Mile route and playing concerts along the way.

The Salts are one of the most exciting and energetic concept bands around, performing original material alongside their own interpretations of traditional songs.

The band feature five seasoned musicians collectively performing a mixture of instruments as well as great harmonies, all guaranteed to get you singing and dancing along!"
