British alt-rock/post-punk outfit originally formed in 1977 and comprised of Alan Hempsall, Robert Davenport, Keith Darbyshire and Gary Madeley.
The band's key releases include various Factory and Factory Benelux singles such as 'Unsightly and Serene' and 'Live on a Hot August Night' and the album 'The Plateaux Phase'.
Hempsall famously stood in for Ian Curtis at a Joy Division show at the Derby Hall in Bury in 1980 after the singer suffered an epileptic fit - a riot ensued.
