Highly influential rock/blues/roots band formed in 1968 and originally featuring Robert Plant - vocals and harmonica, Jimmy Page - guitar, John Paul Jones - bass, keyboards and the late John Bonham - drums.
Cited as the pre-cursor to the genre of heavy-metal, their self-titled albums I to IV, "Houses Of The Holy" and "Physical Graffiti", released 1969-1975, remain credible and influential entrances for many newbie musicians.
The band officially split in 1980 just after Bonham's death - his son Jason has sparred in his place for occasional reformations, including 2007's O2 Arena concert (issued as Celebration Day film/DVD in 2012).
