New Worlds is a project started by Hollywood actor and comedian, Bill Murray and the acclaimed German cellist, Jan Vogler.
It is a "theatrical album" mixing music and literature, exploring themes of American history and identity. In the album, Murray performs various texts, including poems by Whitman and passages from Mark Twain's "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn", Ernest Hemingway's "A Moveable Feast" and Truman Capote's "Breakfast at Tiffany's", mixed-in with instrumental pieces by Bach, Ravel and Piazzolla and classic songs from the Gershwins, Bernstein and Stephen Foster and more.
