Alan Shearer is an English former professional footballer and pundit on the BBC's Match of the Day. Born in Newcastle, he played for his beloved team from 1996 to 2006, as well as a brief period in management. He started his professional career with Southampton in 1998, making hos debut aged 18. Shearer signed with newly-promoted Blackburn Rovers in 1992, helping them win the title in 1995. He is the all-time Premier League top-scorer, netting 260 goals.
He played for the England under 21 team in 1990, making his senior debut in 1992, who he would later captain.
