The Animals were an English band formed in the 60s by singer Eric Burdon, Alan Price (on organ and keyboards), Hilton Valentine (guitar), John Steel (drums), and Bryan 'Chas' Chandler on bass.
Along with The Beatles, The Kinks, The Hollies and many more, The Animals were part of the 'British Invasion' of the 60s.
The band's third single release, the bluesy 'House of the Rising Sun' hit the top spot in the UK charts in 1964, going on to become their signature tune.
