Leon Ware

[1940 - 2017] Leon Ware was an American soul singer and songwriter from Detroit, best known for co-writing and producing Marvin Gaye's hugely successful 1976 album, 'I Want You'.

His other significant credits, among many, include the 'Body Heat' album with Quincy Jones and the hit Michael Jackson single 'I Wanna Be Where You Are'.

Ware's solo career began with the 1972 release of his self-titled debut album and the tracks "Why I Came To California" and "Don't Stop Me".
