Sir Samuel Alexander Mendes CBE is a multi award-winning British film and stage director, producer, and screenwriter.
He is known for his re-inventions of the stage musicals: Cabaret (1993), Oliver! (1994), Company (1995), and Gypsy (2003), plus the shows: "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", "The Ferryman", in and "The Lehman Trilogy", among others.
In film, he made his directorial debut 1999's award-winning "American Beauty", plus "Road to Perdition", "Jarhead", "Revolutionary Road", "Skyfall", "Spectre", and "1917".
