Mercury Rev

Mercury Rev are an American dream-pop and alt-rock band comprised of lead singer Jonathan Donahue plus 'Grasshopper' - guitars, Marion Genser - keys, Chris Heitzman - bass, and Don McGreevy - drums.

Their sound has veered from psychedelic rock ("Yerself Is Steam" 1991) to atmospheric dream-pop ("Snowflake Midnight" 2008) via orchestral-rock ("Deserter's Songs" 1998) and they have acheived far more success in the UK than their homeland.

They released their debut album, "Yerself Is Steam" in 1991, followed by: "Boces" (1993), "See You on the Other Side" (1995), "Paralyzed Mind of the Archangel Void" (also 1995, released under the name: "Harmony Rockets"), "Deserter's Songs" (1998), "All Is Dream" (2001), "The Secret Migration" (2005), "Snowflake Midnight" (2008), "Strange Attractor" (also 2008), "Inner Autumn Outer Space" (2013), "The Light in You" (2015), plus 2019's: "Bobbie Gentry's The Delta Sweete Revisited".

Key songs include: "Delta Sun Bottleneck Stomp", "Opus 40", "The Dark Is Rising" and "In A Funny Way".
