Darren Hayman

Essex-based singer, songwriter and guitarist, best known for being in Hefner which disbanded in 2002. Hayman has since embarked on a solo career, and also performs with his backing group the Secondary Modern. He is occasionally as part of an indie bluegrass supergroup, Hayman, Watkins, Trout & Lee.

His 2011 solo album 'The Ships's Piano' is a subtle, drifting album of piano ballads which he wrote while he was recovering from head injury in 2009. He followed that with: "The Green and the Grey" (2011), "January Songs", "The Shit Piano", "Lido", "The Violence" (all 2012), "Bugbears" (2013), "Chants for Socialists", "Florence" (both 2015), "Thankful Villages Volume 1" (2016) and 2017's: "Thankful Villages Volume 2".
