British indie-pop singer/songwriter from Cheshire, who has formed two bands, first Pele in 1990 and subsequently Amsterdam in 1999.
Amsterdam, whose debut album was 2001's 'Attitunes', were Elvis Costello's backing band on a few occasions.
He released the album, "Does This Train Stop On Merseyside: The Very Best Of Ian Prowse" in 2012, followed by: "Who Loves Ya Baby" (2014), "Companeros" (2015), "Here I Lie" (2019), "The Story of Ian Prowse" (2020), plus 2021's: "One Hand On The Starry Plough".
